Just as every house has a story, every company has a history that reflects the reason for its being. Ours is a family story that starts more than 20 years ago with the patriarch of our family and founder of Appalachian Log Structures, Fletcher R. Parsons.
In 1977, Fletcher decided to put his more than 40 years of experience in log and heavy-timber manufacturing and wood preservatives to the true test: he started a log home company. Not only was he responding to a need for high-quality log structures for housing and commercial use, he was embarking upon his idea of a dream come-true.
Fletcher Parsons envisioned a company that would provide durable, high-quality log structures for residential and commercial use. He wanted to supply customers in this country and abroad with custom-crafted, superbly engineered log structures that would last for generations. He wanted to endow these structures with protection from decay and insects with superior wood preservation treatments. He planned to offer the highest levels of traditional craftsmanship combined with the advantages of advanced technology, plus a full range of services and assistance from a knowledgeable sales staff of consultants. |
